I produced three consecutive annuals for Project Håtsa - a mentor program to boost recruitment and retention of public school educators. This is a great program that receives little attention or focus from the media or government leaders. Project Håtsa should be a regular part of the GPSS SOP and programs, so we can acquire and keep qualitiy teachers who are enthused and excited to be in the classroom.
Kudos go to all the amazing professionals at CEDDERS (at UOG) and the wonderful, unheralded work they do to make Guam a better place - starting with the mnds of our youth. These folks deserve recognition - ven if they dont want it! (they are so honestly humble)....

You have probably heard about Hiroshima and Nagasaki. But did you hear about the bombs the US detonated over the the Marshall Islands a few years after the war ended? Children born with 2 heads, deformed to look like children of demons and monstrous aliens...this is the legacy of American nuclear tests in a place chosen because it was the farthest you can get from White people (in order to keep them safe from any incidental radiation), while the Marshallese people were never even told about why they 2 suns in the sky one morning.
This was a small piece put together for a presentation by Speaker Judi Won Pat, 30th Guam Legislature. January 2009.
